Goverdhan Pooja
On the very second day after Diwali, Goverdhan Pooja or Annakut is celebrated. It was said that on this day Krishna defeated Indra. Lord Krishna lifted up the Goverdhan hill in his index finger to protect the Brajwasis from Indra’s anguish hence since then Goverdhan hill was being worshipped by people. People do parikrama around the Goverdhan hill on this day. Almost 56 dishes (Chappan Bhog) are offered to the deity.
